Why better controls make heating easier
Matched to your system
Compatibility is checked before the new controls are fitted and tested.
Simple day to day use
We set schedules and show you how the controls work before we leave.
Useful alongside heating work
Controls can be upgraded during boiler or system jobs if needed.
Choose controls that suit how you heat the property
Good heating controls do more than switch the boiler on and off. They help the system respond at the right time, reach the temperature you actually want, and stop wasting heat once the job is done.
With A.C.T HEATING LTD, thermostat installation covers wired and wireless room thermostats, plus programmers, timers and cylinder thermostats where the hot water set up calls for them. Working from our South Shields base, we check the existing boiler and control arrangement first so the new controls suit the system rather than fight against it. That makes this service useful during upgrades, fault finding, new heating installations and straight swaps of outdated controls.

Set up, testing and day to day handover
On site, the job starts with safe isolation and a close look at wiring and compatibility. We then position the thermostat where it can sense the room temperature properly, connect the controls, and test that the boiler fires and shuts down as it should.
A.C.T HEATING LTD also sets up schedules and temperature points during handover, so you are not left staring at a screen and guessing what the buttons do. If older controls need replacing or a wireless option would avoid awkward cabling, we explain those choices clearly before the work goes ahead.
Frequently asked questions
Should we choose a wired or wireless thermostat?
That depends on the existing set up, access for cabling and how flexible you want the placement to be. Wireless controls can help avoid awkward wiring runs, while a wired option may suit a straightforward replacement where the existing location still makes sense.
Can an old timer or programmer be replaced too?
Yes, if the system needs updated controls rather than just a thermostat, programmers and related control parts can be discussed as part of the job. The final choice depends on the boiler, wiring and how you want to control heating and hot water day to day.
Will we be shown how to use the new controls?
Yes. Once everything is fitted and tested, we talk you through the schedules, temperature settings and everyday adjustments. The aim is for you to leave the handover knowing how to use the controls properly, not searching for instructions after we go.
